Membership & Volunteer
The Thompson Historical Society (THS or “The Society), relies on Members and Volunteers to enrich our understanding of Thompson’s history.
Your participation is essential. The Thompson Historical Society’s mission is to preserve and celebrate the history of Thompson’s 10 villages: East Thompson, Fabyan, Grosvenordale, Mechanicsville, North Grosvenordale, Quadic, Quinebaug, West Thompson, Wilsonville and Thompson Hill. With more than 325 years of Colonial history and many more centuries of Native American traditions and folklore to research, we certainly can use your help!
Board of Directors at Annual Meeting held on June 27, 2024 at Blair & Karen Cole’s home.
Some of our volunteers include: Museum Shop staff, archivists cataloging artifacts and documents, tour guides leading historical walks, presenters of historical programs, people collecting old photos, and specialists working on restoring the buildings.
