Books & Stories
Joe Lindley long dreamed of a book describing the character and accomplishments of Mr. Canty and the Tourtellotte teams he coached. Knowing he would not be able to finish the book, Joe asked David Santerre to carry the ball over the goal line for him. David came through for Coach Lindley.
You will find the completed Joe Lindley / David Santerre book at the link above, courtesy of Sue Lindley. The Thompson Historical Society thanks David and Sue for their efforts to see this book to completion. Mr. Canty was so much more than a coach. This, the last book Joe Lindley worked on, explains the story behind the mythical Coach Canty. It is my honor to see this noble work shared with the greater Thompson community.
