The Man in the Net Movie
“The Man in the Net” is a movie shot in 1958 and distributed by Untied Artists in 1959. The film starred Hollywood stars Alan Ladd, Carolyn Jones and Diane Brewster as well as Thompson resident Clarence Ballard as the Deputy Sheriff. Several of the outdoor scenes were shot in Thompson. Other sites featured include Thornfield Hall, and Jensen Drive (Quaddick Lake scenes). Extras, as part of the chase “mob”, were from Thompson and other local towns. The Pink House of Woodstock, CT was also used for exterior scenes.
